Obituary

Pauline Marie Rene, 76, of Worcester, died Saturday December 31, 2016. She is predeceased by her husband Bertrand of 51 years who died in 2013 and her daughter Claire who died in 1979. She leaves behind two daughters, Carmen Hollister of Firestone, Colorado and Patricia Rene of Easthampton, Ma, two sons, Richard Rene of Charlton, MA and Peter Rene of Jupiter, Florida, as well as three grandchildren Cooper Hollister, Jackson Hollister and Michael Rene, two sisters, Gisele Haney of San Diego, CA and Claire Goulet of Gorham, NH, and two brothers Raymond Goupil of Kittery, ME and Roland Goupil of Lewiston, ME.
She was born in Lewiston, ME the daughter of Edward Goupil and Marie (Mercier) Goupil. Pauline had worked as a Machine Operator for over 25 years before retiring in 2003. Pauline was a devoted wife to Bertrand Rene for 51 years of marriage. Together they raised 5 children which were Pauline’s pride and joy. While working for over 25 years at Worcester Envelope Company as a machine operator, Pauline poured even more of herself into raising her children and maintaining a home for her kids to thrive in. She was a constant source of support and love for her husband as he became very ill and eventually passed 2013. She was the definition of a great Mom and Wife! Pauline loved to do puzzles and enjoyed experiencing new places. Her trips to Hawaii in 2007 and then following a couple trips to Colorado made lasting impressions. While home Pauline loved to walk and exhibited a fascination and love for animals. She could often be found walking around Goddard House property and always met a stranger with her warm welcoming smile. Pauline loved people watching and made friends wherever she went. Pauline was a very independent and free spirit that thrived on love, affection and curiosity. Pauline enjoyed her Bingo, exercise and a good cigarette with a strong cup of coffee. Showing a strong appreciation for music and dance, she would dance wherever she heard music, it didn’t matter where. Pauline had a smile that made others happy. You will be dearly missed Mom!
Her funeral is Saturday, January 7th with a service at 11:30 AM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday in the funeral home.
