LEICESTER: Mary M. Bailey 77, of Park Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017 at The Meadows of Leicester.
She leaves her husband of 58 years, John H. Bailey, two sons John V. Bailey of Spencer and Michael H. Bailey of Worcester her daughter Deborah L. Bailey and her husband David Evans of SanDiego, Calif., a brother Anthony DeNito of Miami, FL, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mary was a director for many years at an elder home care agency.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Koskie) DeNito and later graduated from St. Peter's High School in Worcester and Anna Maria College in Paxton. She currently was enrolled in graduate courses at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.
Mary was a longtime community advocate for elder care and rape crisis intervention. She volunteered as a social worker at UMASS Memorial Healthcare and also at Quinsigamond College in Worcester.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. A calling hour for family and friends will precede the service on Wednesday from Noon - 1 pm.
