Joan (Reynolds) Wood, of Worcester died Thursday, December 15th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 11 years, Ronald J. Wood died in 1971. She leaves her daughters, Christina M. Wood and Beth-Ann Humphrey and her husband, Jeff all of Worcester; a brother, Francis Reynolds of Rochdale; two sisters, Ruth Kinell of Brookfield and Ann Marie Rodwill of Millbury; two grandchildren, Keegan Wood and Shauna Urbanowski and many nieces and nepehws. She also leaves her beloved dog, Chloe. Joan was predeceased by two brothers, William and Henry Reynolds.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of William J. and Anna F. (O’Connor) Reynolds and graduated from St. Peter’s High School. Joan enjoyed the many years she worked at Babcock Power as a Senior Records Technician. She loved animals especially dogs and enjoyed watching the birds in her backyard. Mrs. Wood was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home and Joan’s past and present family at Babcock Power for their compassion and support they offered.
Her funeral is Tuesday, December 20th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, December 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Bright colored flowers are appreciated to celebrate Joan’s life or a memorial contribution may be made in her memory to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
