SPENCER: Pierre G. Beford, Sr. 100, of Mechanic St., died Tuesday, Dec. 6 in UMASS Memorial-Lake Ave. after an illness.
He was the husband of Pearl M. (Boudreau) Beford who died in 1992. He leaves his children; Janet Beford and her fiance Bruce Ethier with whom he lived, Suzanne Hayden and her husband David of No.Brookfield, Pierre Beford, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Spencer, Jean Decoteau and her husband John of No.Brookfield, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grand children and 3 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son John Beford in 2008, a brother Robert Beford and a sister Eva Manning.
Born in Spencer, he was the son of Alderic and Edmire (Giard) Beford. He was a custodian at David Prouty Junior High School in Spencer for 15 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.
A funeral Mass for Pierre will be held on Friday, Dec. 9 at 10 am. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Friends and relatives are asked to go directly to the church. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Spencer Rescue Squad, Inc., P.O. Box 147, Spencer, Ma. 01562 or Tri-Valley Elder Services 251 Main St., Webster, Ma. 01570.
