Obituary

WORCESTER, MA/ARLINGTON, VA: Kathleen M. O’Day, 64, formerly of Worcester, died unexpectedly at her home in Arlington, VA on Monday, November 28, 2016.

She leaves three brothers, John F. O'Day, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Auburn, Robert T. O'Day of Andover, Timothy J. O'Day and his wife Theresa of Westborough; and her nieces and nephews; Meghan O’Day Murphy, Jack, Sean, Patrick, Grace, Michael & Kevin O’Day. She also leaves many loving cousins and dear friends in D.C.

Her brother Stephen W. O’Day and her niece Julianne O’Day, both predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John F. and Eileen A. (O'Connor) O'Day, and was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School and was an Honors graduate of both Assumption College and Boston College School of Law. She was a member of the Massachusetts Bar.

Kathleen served as Deputy General Counsel and as an officer of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C. having begun her legal career there in 1978. She was an expert in banking regulation and policy. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling with family and friends from London to Hawaii and places in between.

CALLING HOURS will be from 2 to 5 P.M. on SUNDAY, DEC. 4th, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, DEC. 5th, in ST. STEPHEN'S CHURCH, 357 Grafton St. After cremation, burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
