Obituary

SPENCER: Mark A. Tadgell 50, of Sampson St., died Tuesday, Nov. 1 at his home. He leaves his parents Rev. H. Allen Tadgell, Jr. and Joyce E. (Smith) of Oxford, his sister Kimberley J. Marchand and her husband Robert of Georgetown, his estranged wife, Nicole S. (Lee) Tadgell of Grafton.
Mark was born in Winchester, and grew up and attended school in Wilmington, Fairhaven and Leicester. He graduated from Leicester High School and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he sang in the Men's Glee Club and Worcester State University.
Mark served in the U.S. Army as a combat medic, then worked at Flexcon in Spencer as a quality control lab technician. He was a history buff with particular interests in World War II. He enjoyed woodworking and built several items of furniture for his home. He had a love of music and sang in the Leicester Federated Church choir. He also liked to hike on local trails especially when he had his dogs.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. in the Leicester Unitarian Church, 6 Washburn Sq., Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.There will be no committal service as Mark's ashes will be scattered around his family's summer home in N.H. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, MA 01603. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is directing arrangements for the family.
