Obituary

Worcester – Roger E. McDonald, 81, of Worcester, died on Wednesday, September 28th in the Golden Living Center – Hermitage after a brief illness.

Mr. McDonald was married to June A. (Hutchings) McDonald who died in 2007. He is survived by 2 daughters, Trisha J. Hunt and her husband, Darryl of Worcester and Celine M.A. Ewell and her husband, Anthony of Schenectady, NY; 2 brothers, Cleo McDonald of Shrewsbury, MA and Andrew McDonald of Oxford, MA; a sister, Rita Isham of Hamden, MA; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Roger was born in Northbridge, son of the late Cleo and Pauline (Joly) McDonald and is also predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Larson. Mr. McDonald proudly served the United States in the Army.

He worked for many years in the warehouse of New England Grocers Supply as a forklift operator. Roger was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Golden Living Center for the exceptional love and care that was given to Roger.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, October 3 at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church 23 Fales St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Whitinsville. Calling hours will be held in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. on Sunday, October 2nd from 5 to 7 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Roger may be made to the Saint John’s Food for the Poor Program 44 Temple St. Worcester, MA 01604.
