Robert J. Medeiros, 60, of New Bedford passed away suddenly on Monday September 26, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Christine A. (Medeiros) Medeiros and devoted father to his daughter, Ashley Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John and Albina (Osenkowski) Medeiros, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth, where he proudly and humbly served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Rob was employed as a laboratory supervisor for the Shawmut Corporation in West Bridgewater. He had also previously worked at Quaker Fabrics in Fall River and Union Wadding Company in Pawtucket, RI.
He was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School Class of 1974 and UMass Dartmouth.
Rob made Christine and Ashley the center of his life. He loved playing golf on a warm-weathered day, spending time with his dogs, working on projects around the house, and enjoying the company of his family and friends. He was also a former member of the South East Textile Association.
Rob is survived by his wife, Christine; his daughter, Ashley A. Medeiros of New Bedford; three sisters, Elaine J. Medeiros of New Bedford, Kathleen A. Coulombe of Fairhaven, and Christine J. O'Docharty of North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Joan D. "Grammy" Medeiros of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
His family would like to celebrate his life on Friday at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his celebration of life Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 10 AM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
