Dorothy P. (O'Reilly) Stankus, 91, of Worcester, transitioned in peace on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 in her home surrounded by her children. Her husband, John Stankus, died in 2008. She leaves three sons, Michael J. Stankus and his wife Susan of Worcester, Thomas J. Stankus and his wife Nancy of Plymouth, and John C. Stankus and his wife Sandra of Worcester; two daughters, Janice K. Stankus and her husband Gordon Nakano of San Diego, CA and Joanne M. Silverstein and her husband Alan of Ecaussinnes, Belgium; six grandchildren, Christopher Stovell, Jared Stovell, Celia Silverstein, Allie Stankus, Erica Stankus, Mathilda Silverstein and a great grandchild.Reiley. She was predeceased by her son, James J. Stankus in 2009 and two sisters, Blanche Wicks and Kathleen McGinn.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Thomas J. and Pearl (Boisseau) O'Reilly and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Mrs. Stankus worked as a bookkeeper for Alan Oil Company for many years and finished her career at Annie's Book Stop.
Calling hours are from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 20th in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A service will follow at 6:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
