Henry J. “Hank” Marcinczyk, Sr.,84, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Jeanne (Lebouef) Marcinczyk, a daughter, Christine A. “Chris” Marcinczyk of Quinebaug, CT., 2 grandchildren; Mathew J. Marcinczyk and Jessica V. Ward, 4 great grandchildren; Amber, Brittany, Jacob and Paige and many nieces and nephews.
Hank was predeceased by his son, Henry J. Marcinczyk, Jr. who died June 28, 2014, a brother, Frank J. Marcinczyk, Jr., six sisters, Anita C. Cichowski, Helen Braleski, Stasia Gontowski, Viola Daigneau, Stephanie Hodges and Mary Hetu.
He was born in New Britain, CT., the youngest child of the late Frank J. and Mary (Dabrowski) Marcincyk, Sr, and moved to Webster in 1933 at the age of 1.
Hank served 9 years in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1949-1958. He worked as a design engineer for the former Webster Spring Co. (Now Leggett and Platt Co.) in Oxford for 47 years before retiring.
He was a member of American Legion Post # 184, Singletary Rod & Gun and Auburn Sportsmen’s Club and a former member of the Bay State Archers Club.
Hank was a former New England State Archery champion and also held numerous titles and awards in archery.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery.
