Obituary

WORCESTER-Lorraine E. (Gravel) Sears, 80, of Worcester passed away Thursday, September 1 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Her husband of 59 years, Fred C. “Chip” Sears died in 2014. She leaves a son, Todd C. Sears of Worcester; three sisters, Julia M. Woodsum of Auburn, Diane M. Rudis and her husband, Tony of Spring Grove, IL and Barbara J. Katz and her husband, David of Shrewsbury and nieces and nephews. Two daughters at birth; a sister, Doris Kamaraskis and two brothers-in-law, Al Kamaraskis and Kenneth Woodsum predeceased her. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Antonio and Beatrice A. (Floyd) Gravel and graduated from Clinton High School and Fanning Trade School.

Lorraine was a licensed practical nurse at UMASS Memorial Medical Center and the former Hahnemann Hospitals for many years. She was loved gardening in her yard and taking care of birds. Her and Chip enjoyed traveling and camping together.

Visiting Hours will be held from 4 to 7PM with a Prayer Service at 6:45PM on Thursday, September8th in CALLAHAN~FAY~CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Wilton, NH In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, 01606.
