Obituary

Donald C. Parker, 57, of Groton, CT formerly of Boylston, MA passed away on August 28, 2016 at Yale New Haven hospital after a 6 month courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his parents Donald C. and Dorothy J. (Durgin) Parker of Boylston and sisters Wendy Vitkauskas and husband Peter Of Millbury and Bonnie Bisceglia and husband Marc. His wife Carol (Bennett) predeceased him. He also leaves his children Candice Crandall, Rhiannon Krekeler and husband Nathan, Donnie Parker III and wife Galeni, and Lacy Parker and partner Tralayne Saporita. He also leaves 4 grandchildren, Kodie, Zoe, Bella, and London. Donnie was a graduate of Tahanto Regional High School where he played basketball, football, and track. He continued his education at Becker Jr. College on a basketball scholarship. He retired from the Navy after 17 years as a Chief Petty Officer and began a new career at Electric Boat in Groton, CT until his illness. He loved motorcycling and was a member of the Red Nights Association.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 4th at the First Congregational Church, 10 Church St Boylston, MA at 1:00 pm. Donations can be made in his memory to Yale New Haven Hospital Cancer Unit, 20 York St. New Haven CT 06510 or Red Knights Motorcycle Club Memorial Fund-MA Chapter 1, 599 Main St Boylston, Ma 01505.
