Obituary

DUDLEY – Cynthia A. “Cindy” (Fontaine) Baker, 62, died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her home with family at her side.

She leaves her husband of 18 years, Alvin N. “Al” Baker; a daughter, Valerie J. Humphrey of Salt Lake City, Utah; 2 step-daughters, Justine L. Wilga of Webster and Michelle J. Choquette and her husband Raymond of Dudley; 6 grandchildren, including Krystal C. Fontaine of Dudley, and Michael and Scott Cline; 4 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, including Jordon and Brooklyn; a brother, George Tryba of Dudley; a sister, Diane Cullan and her husband Gerry of Southbridge; nieces and nephews.

She was born in Southbridge, a daughter of Albert O. and Cecile J. (Thomas) Fontaine and lived in Southbridge and Dudley when she was growing up. She then moved to Chino, California for 21 years before returning to Dudley about 20 years ago. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1971.

Cindy first was a postal carrier in California for 21 years. She then was a cashier at Ames Department Store for ten years. She worked in the deli department at Park ‘N’ Shop for another ten years, retiring in April, 2015.

She enjoyed stamp collecting, going to yard sales and spending quality time with her great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to the Cancer Center at Harrington Hospital, 55 Sayles Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
