Martha A. (Sleuman) Bowles, 94, a longtime resident of Worcester, passed away Thursday, August 25th in Knollwood Nursing Center. She is survived by three sons, Frazier P. Bowles of Worcester, Donald E. Bowles and his wife Marie of Worcester, and Thomas R. Bowles and his wife Nancy of Worcester; four daughters, Marilyn Tully and her husband Philip of Auburn, Carolyn M. Bowles of Worcester, Patricia A. Fisher of Millbury, and Marcia A. Bowles of Worcester; a brother, Frank H. "Bud" Sleuman, Jr. and his wife Nancy of West Palm Beach, FL; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank H. and Anna G. (Kimball) Sleuman and graduated from South High School. Martha worked in the surgical sterilization department at Hahnemann Hospital for many years. Mrs. Bowles was a member of St. Peter's Parish and the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Golden Years Club.
Mrs. Bowles' family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Knollwood Nursing Center for the compassionate care they provided for Martha.
Martha's funeral service and burial will be held privately. Donations in her memory may be made to Knollwood Nursing Center, 87 Briarwood Circle, West Boylston, MA 01583. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, is assisting with arrangements.
