Obituary

LEICESTER: Duane P. Race, 77, of Howard Terr. in the Cherry Valley section of Leicester died Wednesday, Aug. 17 in his daughter's home after an illness.
His wife Marguerite R. (Ring) Race died in 2010. He leaves three daughters; Di-Ann Ethier and her husband Paul of Cherry Valley, Kandi Cook and her husband Stephen of Spencer and Michelle Scott and her husband Devin of Chandler, AZ, a sister Cheryl Deviow of Southbridge, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Duane B. Race, two brothers Eugene Race and Donald Belanger and a sister Sally Jarosz
Mr. Race was born in Leominster, son of Earl Race and Olah (Palmer) Payea. He owned Exhibit Supervision and was an exhibit builder for trade shows for many years before retiring. After retiring "Papa" drove school bus for Leicester schools. He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam on the USS Kearsarge. He was a member of the West Boylston VFW. He enjoyed golfing and cooking. He loved to spend time with his family.
A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 1:00PM in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. There are no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester is directing funeral arrangements.
