Obituary

DUDLEY – Rita S. (Leveille) Kotarba, 78, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at her home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 56 years, Henry J. Kotarba; a daughter, Susan A. Rebis and her husband Ryszard of Southbridge; two sons, Joseph J. Kotarba and his wife Rebecca of New Bedford, and John P. Kotarba and his wife Cathleen of Webster; nine grandchildren, Christina Fortin, Jessica Rebis, Melissa Hohler, Jennifer Kotarba, Army National Guard Warrant Officer Eric Kotarba, and Destiney, Abigail, Caitlin and Robert Kotarba; four great-grandchildren, Aliviah, Jayden, Madison and Ava; two brothers, Armand Leveille of Windsor Locks, CT and Andre Leveille and his wife Nancy of Webster; a sister, Germaine Domino of Worcester; Henry, Jr.’s former wife Debra of Somerset; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Henry J. Kotarba, Jr. in 2011, by her brother Arthur Leveille and by her sister Jackie Lavoie.

She was born in Stanbridge, Quebec, a daughter of Moise F. and Aurore B. (Chauvin) Leveille and raised in Fairfield, Vermont. She had lived in Dudley since her marriage in 1960. She graduated from Leo’s Beauty Institute in Worcester.

Mrs. Kotarba was a hairdresser for several years. After raising her family, she worked as a twister at Stevens Linen Associates before retiring.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Webster. She was the president of the Blessed Sacrament Society and a long-time member of the parish committee. She volunteered to do the cooking for parish suppers for many years. She was a member of the Dudley Polish National Alliance and a delegate to District 1 of the PNA. She also belonged to the Polish National Union. She enjoyed cooking, ceramics, playing bingo and visiting the casino.

The funeral will be held Friday, August 26, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, n340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Holy Trinity Church, 68 Lake St., Webster. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 25, in the funeral home.
