Obituary

Nicholas Gary "Nicky" Petralias, 79, of Cherry Valley, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15th with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette (Reilley) Petralias; his son, Gary Petralias and his wife, Vickie of Natick; his granddaughter, Katherine Petralias; two sisters, Faith Rodolakis and Madeline Dewey; nephews, Stephan and Alex Rodolakis; step-sons, Joseph, Stephen and Christopher Reilley; and step-grandchildren, Amanda, Veronica and Erica.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Alex and Alexandria (Gouveris) Petralias; and was a graduate of Worcester Academy and attended Clark and Rutgers Universities. Nicky owned and operated Holden Package Store and Gary's Eating and Drinking Saloon in Westborough. He had also been a salesman for the former Edward Buick dealership and after his retirement spent many years working at the Disney Store in Framingham.
Nicky was a dedicated member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and and at one time served as its parish council president, and a long time member of the Order of AHEPA. He was a religious man who was passionate about supporting the needs of the church and devoted much of his time to volunteering at cathedral events and its festivals.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Holy Trinity Hospice and the Nursing and rehabilitation Center.
His funeral is Friday, August 19th at Noon in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Avenue, Worcester, MA 01606. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
