Obituary

James D. Bonofilio, 64, of Worcester, died Friday, July 22nd. He is survived by his wife, Rita V. (McGlynn) Bonofilio; his two daughters, Melissa M. Bonofilio and her husband, Nathaniel Clark of Worcester and Jean-Marie M. Bonofilio of Charlestown; his mother, Regina (Milano) Bonofilio of Worcester; two sisters, Cathy A. Hunter of Los Gatos, CA and Jean M. Nabhan and her husband, Gregory of Rye, NY; several nieces and nephews, cousins, many longtime friends as well as his "four legged kids".
He was born in Worcester, his father was the late Dr. Nicholas R. Bonofilio. Jimmy attended Assumption Prep and was a graduate of Worcester Academy. He also attended the University of Massachusetts, Quinsigamond Community College and St. Anselm's College. Jimmy had worked for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation as a civil engineer for 34 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and UNICO as well as the Train Collector's Association. Jimmy was a longtime avid train and car enthusiast. Family gatherings brought him great joy, allowing him to demonstrate his culinary prowess and spend time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
His calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 27th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
