Obituary

Centerville – Edward J. Thebeau, 80, of Centerville and a longtime Worcester resident died in Cape Cod Hospital after an illness.

Mr. Thebeau is survived by his wife of 55 years, Clarisse (Gallant) Thebeau; a son, Robert Thebeau and his wife, Vickie of Worcester and formerly of Shrewsbury; a daughter, JoAnne Wetherbee and her husband, Richard of Centerville; his grandchildren, Sean Wetherbee and his wife Dana of Mansfield, MA, Jake Wetherbee of New York City, Andrew Thebeau of North Hollywood, CA and Zack Thebeau of Worcester and formerly of Shrewsbury; 3 brothers, Yvon Thebeau and his wife Eva, Camille Thebeau and his wife, Huberte and Alfred Thebeau and his wife, Marie Celine; 6 sisters, Eliza Robichaud, Anna Allain and her husband, Abraham, Suzanne Arseneault and her husband, Roger, Yvonne Ouelette and her husband, Gus, Evangeline Gallant and her husband, Ronald and Diane Boisvert.

Eddy was born in St. Ignace, New Brunswick, Canada son of the late Treffle and Albertine (Chevarie) Thebeau.

He worked for 42 years as a master diesel mechanic at International Harvester and was a longtime member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester until it’s closing in 2008. He then joined Our Lady of the Angels Church where he belonged until moving to Centerville in 2015.

Eddy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family, especially taking trips back home to Canada where he would spend time fishing and 4 wheeling.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday. July 23rd from 9 to 12 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a funeral service to be held at 12 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
