Joan F. (Herrie) Martunas, 75, of Arlington, OR formerly of Worcester, MA died Sunday, July 3rd in Mid-Columbia Medical Center. She leaves her longtime companion, Orin Mariner; two sons, Thomas F. Grogan of Worcester and Gregg F. Martunas of Italy; a brother, Alan F. Herrie of Spencer; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Robert Herrie and Peter Herrie, Jr. predecease her.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of the late Peter F. Herrie, Sr. and Dorothy A. (Parker) Herrie. Joan worked at Imperial Distributors in Auburn for over 10 years as a shipping clerk. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church. Joan graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and attended Worcester State College.
Her funeral is Monday, July 11th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
