Obituary

Edward P. McKeon, 90, of Worcester died Sunday, July 3rd in Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. His wife of 60 years, Mary F. (Daly) McKeon died in 2015. He leaves three daughters, Mary F. McKeon of Worcester, Alice C. McKeon and her husband, David Mingori of Worcester and Julie A. McKeon-Yahn and her husband, Eric of Oakland, ME; his granddaughter, Brittany DePalma-Yahn and her husband, Chris of Oakland, ME; and his great-granddaughter Pagean DePalma-Yahn; and many nephews and nieces. Three brothers, James R., Francis X. and Matthew C. McKeon and four sisters, Mary Hanratty, Winifred Werme, Anne Costello and Ellen Blanchard predeceased him.
He was born in Natick the son of James and Alice (Trainor) McKeon. Edward was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. McKeon was a member of Christ the King Church, Tatnuck Island Club and the Cherry Valley VFW Post 7840. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center for the compassion and care they offered Edward in his final days.
His funeral is Wednesday, July 6th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:30 AM in Christ the King, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will be private in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will be held from 9:00 until 10:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McAuley Nazareth Home, 77 Mulberry Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
