Sally Ann (Ketola) Roy, 72, of Worcester, died on Wednesday, May 25th in the Webster Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Sally is survived by her husband, Richard L. Roy; 2 daughters, Jill Hays of Worcester and Amy Santana of Haverhill; 2 step sons, William Roy and his wife Lisa od Oxford and David Roy and his wife Julie of New Hampshire; a step daughter, Donna Tappin and her husband Michael of Connecticut; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Roy was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Arvi and Sadie (Leppanen) Ketola. She is a graduate of North High School and attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Sally worked for over 20 years at the former Mechanics Bank and Bank of Boston until her retirement. She also worked at Abby’s House in Worcester.
Mrs. Roy could often be found at the Central Branch YMCA where she enjoyed swimming. Sally also liked to go out to dinner and take cruises. She will be sadly missed by her two cats, Oscar and Lucy.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 31st from 4 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Burial will be at a later date in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Sally may be made to Abby’s House 52 High Street Worcester, MA 01609.
