Augusta, GA – Mr. Richard Wade Adams, 82, beloved husband of Evelyn Morris Adams, entered into rest on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the chapel at Warren Baptist Church with Dr. David Mckinley and Rev. Bret Legg officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00 PM until service time in the Hattie Rhodes Langley Room located just behind the chapel.
Mr. Adams was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County and served his country proudly in the United States Army, Army Reserves, and National Guard. He was a life-long and active member of Warren Baptist Church.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his son, John Arnold Adams; his parents, Julian M. and Elizabeth Macky Adams; his father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Ellen Morris; his niece, Beverly N. Crowell; and by his much loved cousin William Adams.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Adams is survived by his son, Julian Wade Adams of Albany, NY; his sister, Frances A. Crowell of Martinez; his brother, David H. Adams of Moultrie, GA his beloved nieces and nephews, Lamar Crowell (Wendy), Sandra Hessey (Randy), and Charlotte A. Kegley (Seth); his great-nieces and nephews, Travis Crowell, and Aubrey, Annalyn, and Ryan Kegley; and by his deceased son John’s partner and children, Don Edmunds and children, Mary and Daniel.
The family would like to thank the many special friends and family who have been so supportive; Jackie Adams, Connie Storey, Ernie and Ken Adams, Joy and Don Ray, Kay and Fred Rexer, Jenny Mc Alhany, Jeanette Kelly and family, Patricia Gowen, Ken and Dianne Turner, and Willie Divine. The family would also like to thank the entire staff on the 2nd Floor of the Georgia War Veterans Home, Charge Nurse Stephanie Nichols, Social Worker Laura Feely, and Dr. Gulati for their loving care of Richard.
