Florence R. Paquette, of Worcester, passed away Saturday, May 14th in UMass Memorial Hospital. She leaves her beloved sister, Mabel Abdella of Worcester; a brother, Francis Paquette of West Boylston; and numerous nephews and nieces, including Richard P. Abdella, Sr., who was her primary caregiver with assistance from Virginia Bonney. She also leaves many grand and great-grand nephews and nieces. Florence was predeceased by seven siblings, John, Helen, and Edward Paquette, Sadie Abood, Laura Abdella, Mary Rahaim, and Rita Cournyn.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Michael and Anna (Daboul) Paquette and lived here all her life. Florence graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and worked at Worcester Felt Pad Company for many years, leaving her job to care for her aging mother. She was an active and life-long member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish.
Auntie Flo dedicated her life to church and family, lovingly helping all who needed her. She was particularly proud of her ten godchildren.
Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass Wednesday, May 18th at 6:00 P.M. in her beloved Our Lady of Mercy Church, 341 June Street. She will be laid to rest privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 341 June Street, Worcester, MA 01602.
