Obituary

Barbara Lillian (Ciras) McGonigle, age 68 of Methuen passed away on February 8, 2016. Barbara was born in Methuen on April 8, 1947 to the late Joseph C. Ciras and her surviving mother, Eleanore (Powell) Ciras. Mrs. McGonigle was a graduate of Tenney High School, Class of 1964. Barbara was a long time clerk at the Salem, NH Post Office where she worked for 33 years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family was a very important part of Barbara’s life. Barbara enjoyed shopping, reading, spending time in the pool, and vacationing.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert H. McGonigle with whom she shared 22 years of marriage and the late Gasper “Gus” Titone Jr. Mrs. McGonigle was the devoted mother of Karyn (Titone) Williams and her husband Dan of Haverhill, and Doris J. “DJ” Titone and her longtime partner Lance Hie of Salem, NH. She was the dear sister of Gayle Montequin and her late husband Carl, Jackie Malenfant and her husband Norman, Joelle Lee and her husband Hong, Joseph Ciras and his partner Chris Sanscartier, Thomas Ciras, and John Ciras. Barbara was the loving grandmother of Timothy Davis and his wife Heather, SSG. Ryan Davis and his wife Gisselle, Lauren Herrin and her husband SGT. Brad Herrin, Keyhana J. Hie, and KarLill Titone. She was the adored great grandmother of 9 girls and 1 boy. Barbara was the step mother to Robert McGonigle Jr., Linda Saitta, David McGonigle, Gary McGonigle and the late Patty McGonigle. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, February 14, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at the funeral home beginning promptly at 4:00 PM. Per the family request there will be no interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Run to Home Base Program. Run to Home Base is a partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, that helps Service Members, Post-9/11 Veterans and their Families heal from the Invisible Wounds of War through clinical care, wellness-based programs, community outreach, education and research.
