Obituary

DUDLEY – Priscilla A. (Hingston) Bradley, 81, of 34 Aldea Avenue, died Friday, Dec. 17, in Hubbard Regional Hospital. Her husband of 53 years, the Rev. David T. P. Bradley, died in December, 2003.

She leaves a daughter, Rebecca L. Ankener and her husband Paul of Peabody; a son, Carl P. Bradley and his wife Mary of Deming, WA; 3 grandchildren, Sarah Hyman and David T. R. Bradley of Seattle, and Elizabeth Short Bradley of Deming; and 2 great granddaughters.

She was born and raised in Peabody, a daughter of William R. and Florence (Reid) Hingston. She lived in Hull's Cove, Maine, Yonkers, NY, Hamden, CT, and Webster before moving to Dudley about 30 years ago. She graduated from Peabody High School and Salem State Teacher's College.

Mrs. Bradley was a teacher of economics at Tourtellotte Memorial High School in Thompson before she retired in 1974. After that, she was a substitute teacher at area schools for several years. She loved her calling to educate the young.

She was devoted to the church all her life. Along with her late husband, she founded Saint Columba's Anglican Catholic Church in Dudley about 1978. She was a soprano in choirs all her life, played the organ, and had many artistic abilities. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Peabody. She had an intense awareness and appreciation of the beauty of the world around her.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Dec. 22, in the First Congregational Church of Dudley, 135 Center Road. Burial will be in Waldron Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
