Edward J. Casazza
Longtime Tewksbury resident

TEWKSBURY: Edward J. Casazza, age 93, a resident of Tewksbury for 59 years, passed away at the Emeritus of Tewksbury on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Faga) Casazza, with whom he celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 2, 2013.
Born in Arlington on October 26, 1920, he was one of nine children of the late Mattia Casazza and the late Maria (Sirino) Casazza.
Ed was raised in Arlington, attended Arlington schools and graduated from Arlington High School in 1938.
Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II as an Aviation Radioman First Class.
Prior to his retirement in 1985, he was employed as an Electro Optics Technician for M.I.T. Lincoln Labs, where he worked for 32 years.
He resided in Arlington until moving to Tewksbury in 1955.
Ed was a communicant of Saint William's Parish in Tewksbury.
He was a member of the Arlington American Legion and the Tewksbury Golden Age Club.
Ed enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles, and taking a dip in his pool.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by eight children, Edward J. Casazza, Jr. of Deerfield, NH, Carol A. Black and her husband Richard of Alexandria, VA, Matthew Casazza and his wife Cathy of Henniker, NH, Betty Jane Casazza of Tewksbury, Daniel P. Casazza and his wife Joanne of Salem, NH, William S. Casazza and his wife Jean of Salem, NH, Tim E. Casazza and his wife Diane of Billerica, and Frankie D. Casazza and his wife Ellen of Lowell; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Benjamin, Stephen, Jill, Gregg, Katie, Kristen, Daria and Aleksandra; one great grandson, Landon; also many nieces and nephews.
Ed was the brother of the late Rachel Caterino, Agnes White, James, John, Thomas, Joseph, Charles and Frank Casazza.
Calling hours Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Care Alternatives Hospice, 100 Locke Drive, Marlborough, MA 01752.
