Lillian A. (Deslauriers) Dudas

SPRINGFIELD – Lillian A. (Deslauriers) Dudas, 79, of the Glenwood section of Springfield was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family who were her devoted caregivers. She was born in Springfield on January 22, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Armand P. and May (Thompson) Deslauriers. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Elementary School and Cathedral High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was previously employed at the former A & P Bakery on Plainfield Street in Springfield and was later employed as an inspector at the Electronic Coil Company in Westfield. Active in her faith, she was a communicant of the former Saint Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in South Hadley and the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Monday Evening Prayer Group. She was currently a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church in East Springfield. Lillian was a quiet woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Andy Dudash who was Called Home on April 5, 2012. They were married on October 3, 1953 at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving daughter, Jacqueline C. Towsley who was Called Home on June 27, 2003; and her dear sister-in-law, Mary Dudash who was Called Home on February 12, 2011. She leaves her loving daughters, Mary A. Leporati and her husband, Jeffrey, of Mason, OH, Cynthia L. Lortie and her husband, Leo, of East Longmeadow, and Ann M. Bryant of Springfield; her loving son-in-law, William Towsley of Idaho; her 11 cherished grandchildren, Nichole Leporati, Joey Leporati, Michael Leporati and his wife, Emily, Tony Leporati and his fiancée, Sadie Paxton, Michelle Forbes and her husband, Anthony, Adrianne Cassidy and her husband, Patrick, Christopher Bryant and his fiancée, Chrissy LaRoche-Alvarez, Paul Bryant, Jennifer Barrett and her husband, Sean, Jayne Kantor and her husband, Kirk, and Jo-Ann Styles and her husband, Adam; her 11 cherished great-grandchildren; her loving brother, Armand Deslauriers and his wife, Doris, of Ludlow; and her many dear nephews, nieces and cousins. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, October 12, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Hope Church, 840 Page Boulevard, East Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will be private at a later date for her family at Calvary Cemetery in Chicopee. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
