Laura Milner Tomberlin, 98, of Ocilla, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Heritage Healthcare at Osceola in Ocilla.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with the Dr. David Bailey and Rev. Steve Hand officiating. Interment will follow in the Paulk-Tomberlin Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Tomberlin was born April 7, 1914 in Irwin County, Georgia to the late Quintus G. and May Bell Johnson Milner. Mrs. Tomberlin was a homemaker and lived in Irwin County all of her life. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, knitting and taking care of her family. She was a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church.
She is survived by: three sons: Roy Lee (Joy) Tomberlin of Ocilla, Ernest (Jean) Tomberlin of Tifton and Albert “Buck” (Linda) Tomberlin of Emory, Texas; two daughters: Frances (Owen) Bailey of Winter Springs, Florida and Ann Rosier of Michigan; 12 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; and one brother: Leon Milner of Leland, N.C. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Julian Oliver Tomberlin, one son: Buddy Tomberlin; three brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild.
