Helen L. (Gillis) Joudrie of Reading passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Winchester Hospital. She was 83 years of age.
Born in Boston, Helen was the loving daughter of the late Lawrence Gillis and Mary (MacNeil) Gillis. Helen was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Helen prepared food at St. Athanasius Rectory for over 25 years. She volunteered at the Reading Senior Center and had a love for music, bingo and bowling. Her true love was for her family. She was a dedicated and devoted homemaker for many years. Helen’s love of family will always be embedded in our hearts and minds.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Neil A. Joudrie. She was the devoted mother of Neil D. Joudrie, Douglas L. Joudrie and his wife Kim, Barbara A. Jelinek and her husband Jeffrey, Gail L. Cooney and her husband Michael, George N. Joudrie and his wife Tracey. Helen was the cherished grandmother of 6 and the loving great grandmother of 3. She was the dear sister of the late Jean L. MacIntrye and the beloved friend of Gene Frongillo. Helen was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service Celebrating Helen’s Eternal Life will be held on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at 7pm in the Chapel of the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family prior to the Service beginning at 3pm. Parking attendants and handicapped entrance are available.
