Webster
Earl Arthur Hart, 92, of Lower Gore Rd., passed away peacefully Friday, January 25, 2013, at Millbury Health Care Center.
His wife of 67 years, Claire S. (Quigg) Hart died March 14, 2008. He was also predeceased by a brother Charles ‘Chick’ Hart of Minnesota.
He leaves a loving niece, Elaine Lehmann and her husband Tom of South St. Paul, Minnesota, along with 4 nephews; Richard, Ronald, James and Jeffery Hart.
He was born in Webster the son of Edwin and Lillian (Girard) Hart and attended St. Louis School and Nichols College. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran in WWII, serving aboard the newly commissioned U.S.S. Yorktown ‘The Fighting Lady’ aircraft carrier which saw significant action in the Pacific Theater. Earl was invited to participate in the decommissioning of the ship on June 27, 1970.
Earl worked his whole life in the textile industry. He worked as a production manager at Cranston Print Works for 18 years before moving to Adams, MA. in 1964.
He was the customer service manager for Arnold Finishing Co. until his retirement in 1983 when he and Claire returned to Webster. He was an active parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Dudley. Earl was a past member of the Webster Personnel Board and Finance Committees and Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golf, sports and pitch league.
Earl leaves a special friend, Krista Lomartire and her parents Ken and Gloria Gamache of Dover, N.H. along with his caregivers Bill and Sylvia Annese of Webster.
There are No calling hours.
The Funeral will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 with a Mass at 10 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd., in Dudley (please meet at the Church).
Burial with Military Honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Webster.
