Blanche M. Battista (Bianca Humphrey) passed away peacefully on January 4, 2013 at Park Place Nursing Home Monroe, Georgia where she resided for the past two months.

Blanche was born on January 14, 1921 in Naples, Italy while her family was abroad on business. She resided with her parents and siblings in Medford, Massachusetts until her marriage to Albert Battista at age 19. She graduated from Medford High School, Class of 1939 and Fisher Business College, Boston, Massachusetts.

She is the daughter of her dearly departed parents; Louis W. Valentino and Esther Buono Valentino. And the sister of her beloved brothers Frank, Armand, and Leo Valentino all who are deceased. She is survived by her brother Mario Valentino, and sister Marie Valentino Thomann.

She was the wife of Albert E. Battista of Cambridge, Mass.; widowed then married to George Humphrey of Clearwater, Florida; both deceased. She had survived as the mother of two beautiful sons; Albert Battista Jr. and William Battista who tragically died in a drowning accident at Medford in March of 1951. At the time of their passing Albert Jr. (Albie) was 9 years old, and William (Billy) was 7 years old.

Blanche is survived by her four children; daughters Francesca Elizabeth Battista, and Linda Elaine Battista Breheim, and two sons Alan William Battista, and Richard Albert Battista.

She is survived by her 11 grandchildren; Christopher Wolin, Katie Abernathy, Mark Garretson, Johnny Garretson, Bianca Battista Davis, Gina Battista Colombo, Francesca Battista Martins de Castro, Alan Battista, Jr., Anthony Battista, Robert Battista, and Cara Marie Battista. She is survived by her 5 great grand children; Benjamin, Levi, and Josephine Abernathy, and Isabella Martins de Castro, and Macy Grace Davis.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to join in a funeral procession for Blanche that will begin at 10:00am on Friday January 18, 2013 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home located at 306 Main Street Medford, Mass. and then proceed to a burial ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford commencing at 10:30am.
