Kathleen Gildea (Eastwood) age 86 of Canton passed away September 4th at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton. Born and raised in Andover, she attended Punchard High in Andover and Choate Memorial Nursing School in Woburn. She worked as a secretary in her husband’s Dental Office for many years. She was a former member of Catholic Charities, the Junior Guild of the Infant Savior, the League of St. Apollonia and a CCD Teacher at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. She was an avid golfer and skier and was a member of Woodland Golf Club, the Milton Hoosic Club and enjoyed spending time skiing at their home in Stratton Mountain Vermont. Beloved wife of the late George T. Mother of George Gildea of PA, John Gildea & his wife Ann Marie of RI, Kerry Gildea of Stoughton, Ellen Leeber & her husband Paul of Hull, Mary Kay Whelan & her husband Brian, Jane Desisto & her husband Peter & Martin Gildea & his wife Jo-An all of Canton, James Gildea of Walpole & Matthew Gildea & his wife Susan of Mansfield. She is survived by her twin sister of Marie O’Brien of FL & a brother John “Buddy” Eastwood of Brookfield. Also survived by 23 grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday morning at 10. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery.
