Obituary

Lorraine A. (Hegenberger) Curtis, 68, died Monday evening, July 30, 2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Hugh B. Curtis, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
Born in Winthrop on Jan. 10, 1944, she was the daughter of Lorraine (Brodeau) Hegenberger of Hanover and the late Carlton Hegenberger. She was raised and educated in Rockland.
A longtime resident of Danvers, where she raised her family, Lorraine had been employed at New England Biolabs of Ipswich for many years.
A Rowley resident since 2004, she was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Karyn Curtis-Bedard and her husband John Hargrove of Danvers, Allison Curtis-LaCava of Lynn, and David Curtis of Manchester, NH, her grandchildren, Nicole Curtis, Tyler Bedard, Alex LaCava, and Shannon Curtis, and her brothers and sisters, Paul and Richard Hegenberger of Scituate, John Hegenberger of Pembroke, Carla Hegenberger of Quincy, and Leanne Hegenberger of FL.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 5-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022.
