COFFIN, Margaret (Peggy) B. of Auburndale, MA passed away peacefully, June 9, 2012, at her home in Auburndale, MA where she has lived for the past 11 years. She was the wife of the late Edwin F. Coffin, Jr. Born in Dedham, MA May 10, 1918, Peggy was the daughter of the late Harold Hill Blossom and Mini Dawson Blossom. She was a graduate of Bouve-Simmons College where she received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy. Before moving to Auburndale, Peggy was a resident of Wellesley, MA for 42 years.
Peggy loved children, swimming, big dogs, pansies, canoeing, a good mystery story, and spending time with her family, especially in the great outdoors.She always saw the best in people, was never critical, encouraged others, and was always there to support those in need.
She is survived by her four children, Lucille C. Vandervelde of Franklin, MA, Jeanne E. Coffin of South Wales, NY wife of Donald Lusardi, Eleanor A. Coffin of Belmont, MA, wife of Douglas Ertelt and John R. Coffin of Needham, MA. In addition to her two surviving sisters Eleanor B. Fisher of East Orleans, MA, and Deborah Estaver of Lee, NH, she will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service in her honor will be held Saturday, June 16th, at 11:00 AM, at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills. Her family extends their welcome to all who wish to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Charles River Association For Retarded Citizens, 59 Militia Heights, Needham, MA 02492.
