Maria (Paolucci) Coli, of Somerville formerly of the North End of Boston, entered into Eternal Rest, March 23, 2012, surrounded by her dedicated family at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 87.

Born and raised in Lucca, Italy, daughter of the late Amadeo and Domenica (Lucchesini) Paolucci. Maria came to the United States with her husband Mario and daughter Carla in 1959. The family first lived in Boston’s North End before settling in Somerville.
Maria worked as a stitcher in the men’s clothing business with the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union, before she retired. She was a devoted wife and mother who was especially fond of her grandchildren and delighted to see the birth of her first great-grandchild.

The loving wife of the late Mario Coli, who died in 1992, She was a devoted mother to Carla Walsh of Somerville and Angela Ferrari of Melrose. She was a cherished Nana to loving grandchildren: Kris Walsh of Hawaii, Brian Walsh and his wife Sara of Worcester, Amanda Bates and her husband Derek of Medford, Alana and Michael Ferrari of Melrose and a loving great-grandmother to Frankie Bates of Medford. She was the cherished sister of the late Leonilde, Plinio, Mario and Carlo. And is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends locally and in Italy, France and Australia.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, March 28th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church, 399 Medford Street, Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria's honor may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center, 55 Fruit St. Boston, MA, 02144.
