Obituary

Stephen M. Spell, 39 of Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 19 at Holt Baptist Church with Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment will follow in the Satilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Spell was born September 8, 1969 in Coffee County, Georgia to Barbara Rigdon Spell and the late Levi Spell. He graduated from Broxton High School in 1988. He received his electrical training from Ben Hill-Irwin Tech, graduating in 1990. He was a licensed electrician and for 15 years had been a devoted employee for Alvin Wynn Electric. Mr. Spell was an avid hunter and fisherman who had a passion for the outdoors and wildlife as well as a deep love for his children and family. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed woodworking, taking time to make his own turkey calls. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Spell is survived by his wife: Paige Gray Spell of Irwin County; daughter and son: Anna Hagan Spell and Sawyer Montgomery Spell, both of Irwin County; mother: Barbara R Spell of Denton; brother: Christopher Levi Spell of Pridgen; sister and brother-in-law: Stephanie Spell Pickren & Michael of Hazlehurst; his mother-in-law: Betty Gray Hudson of Irwin County; a brother-in-law and his wife: Rhett David Gray & Connie of Irwin County as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Levi Spell.
