Obituary

James R. “Jimmy” Lee, 63, of Ocilla died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Ocilla Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating and daughter, Jami Lee, delivering the eulogy . Interment will follow in Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 on Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Lee was born in Ocilla, GA to the late James Edison and Ella Holden Lee. Living in Ocilla all of his life, he was a 1964 graduate of Irwin County High School. He worked as the Purchasing Agent for Flintstone Industries, Pioneer Housing, and Cargo South in Ocilla. A member of the Ocilla City Council for 6 years, he served as Mayor ProTem for 2 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and member of the choir.

He is survived by wife, Anniece Ross Lee of Ocilla; 2 Daughters: Jami Lee of Midway, GA and Jai (Joey) Ammons of Ocilla; 2 Grandchildren: Karsen Allen and Kaleb Ammons of Ocilla.
