Obituary

Clarence Howard Paulk, 80, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in Hawkinsville.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, October 6, at Satilla Baptist Church in Irwin County with Rev. William Pope and Rev. Dan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mr. Paulk was born December 4, 1925, in Irwin County, to the late Lott and Rachel Vickers Paulk. He was a farmer and lived in Irwin County all of his life. Mr. Paulk served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member and a Deacon of Satilla Baptist Church. Mr. Paulk was an avid woodworker and stock trader.

Mr. Paulk is survived by his wife of sixty years: Karleen Harper Paulk of Irwin County; daughter & son-in-law: Linda Kaye & Donald Pope of Ocilla; son & daughter-in-law: Howard Lott & Lorraine Paulk of Cumming; grandchildren: John Paulk of Cumming, D.A. Pope of Ocilla, Linda Pope of Jesup and Sherry St. John of Savannah; 5 Great-grandchildren; brother: Jacob Willis Paulk of Irwin County. He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
