Pauline P. Griffin, 81, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M., Tuesday, January 26, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Elder Charles Tyson and Elder Herman Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Griffin was born November 27, 1928 in Dodge County, Georgia to the late William Howard and Mallie Lee Jones Poole. Formerly living in Jacksonville, FL and the Atlanta area, she was a 1947 graduate of Ocilla High School. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker, avid golfer and captain of her high school basketball team. She was a member of Old Valley Grove Primitive Baptist Church and the Ocilla Country Club.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wiley Griffin of Fitzgerald; daughters: Janis Marie (Doug) Echols of Eatonton, Sandra Faye Boyett of Lawrenceville, and Cathy Anne (Matt) Eisenmenger of Burlington, Kentucky. 6 grandchildren; Casey (Sally) Lane, Kelly (Andrew) Ferenc, Jason (Bobbie) Boyett, Amanda (Terry) Sieveking, Brady (Pricilla) McPeak and Andy McPeak, 6 great grandchildren; Maren & Isaac Lane, Skyler & Makayla Boyett, Breanna & Cole Sieveking. Sisters; Myrt (Marshall) Wilson, Arlane (Ray) Davis and Annette Reeves all of Fitzgerald. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Guyton Poole, Horace Poole, J.W. Poole and sisters, Bernice Graham and Lucille Wood.
