Funeral services for Mrs. Wilda M. Mangum, 81, of Rebecca, Ga. will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Rebecca Baptist Church. Mrs. Mangum passed away Friday at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, GA. following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca.
The daughter of the late Lewis Floyd and Margaret Griffin Handley she was born in Ben Hill Co., GA. and had lived in Turner Co. for over sixty years. She was a member of the Rebecca Baptist Church, the Keenagers, the Primetimers and Rebecca Baptist WMU. She was a retired machine operator with M & W Sportswear. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Mangum and a daughter Margaret Asilee Mangum.
Survivors include her children, Sylvia M. Goodwin, Austell, GA. and Ronnie Mangum , Rebecca, GA.; sisters, Mary Jo Sell, Norcross, GA., Mary Walker, Lilburn, GA., Lucille Coleman, Fitzgerald, GA., Jeanette Williams, Fayetteville, GA. and a brother, Willard Handley, Butler, GA. Her grandchildren, Chris (Penny) Goodwin and Derrick Goodwin both of Austell, GA., and great-grandchildren Gage, Dallas, J.D. and Loren Goodwin all of Austell, GA.
The family will receive friends Sunday from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
