Howard E. Herndon, Jr., 65, Nashville, TN, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Alive Hospice, Nashville, TN. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Smith Cemetery. No visitation will be held. The remains are to be cremated. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born January 2, 1945 in Clarksville son of the late Howard E. Herndon, Sr. and Mildred Buck Herndon. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Austin Peay State University, and his Dr. of Jurisprudence from the University of Memphis. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Revenue where he had served as head of the legal staff. He was a master bridge player. Survivors include his sister, Delta Yarbrough, Cunningham, TN.
