Obituary

Retired Lawrence Police Officer David Martin Augusta, 63, of Salem, New Hampshire passed away peacefully Friday, February 11th, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 31st, 1947 in Lawrence to the late Anthony and Alice (Andrade) Augusta. Mr. Augusta was educated in the local schools. According to his family he was very proud of serving in the United States Army in Vietnam.

Mr. Augusta was a graduate of the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Counsel in Topsfield, where he later taught. He also taught classes at U-Mass Lowell. He was on the Lawrence Police Department for 26 years until his retirement. He was a life-member of the D.A.V and the V.F.W.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially lived for his grandchildren and loved to spend time with his family.

David would always lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors.

His family members include
His wife Sharon A. (Lacroix) Augusta

His Children:
David and his wife Christine,Dawn and her husband Santo,Wayne and Meredith.

His Grandchildren: Olivia, David III, Santino, Andrew, Aaron, and Emily

His Brothers: Anthony, Joseph and Michael and his sister Alice.
As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

And his long-time childhood friend Francis Preneveau.

He was predeceased by his brothers John and Bill.
