Obituary

Cecile Rena (Archambault) Cookson, 96, of Lawrence, died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her caregivers and daughter, Carol Cookson of Salisbury Ma. on Sunday, November 16, 2008.

Born in Lawrence, Ma. on November 24, 1911, Cecile was the daughter of Joseph Achilles and Clara (Langevin) Archambault. Cecile was educated at St. Anne’s Grammar School in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Lloyd in 1954 and her son, Roland, in 1983.

A woman of great faith, Cecile was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and her family was very dear to her. She is survived by six children: Robert Cookson of Midwest City, Oklahoma and his wife, Margaret O’Connor Cookson, Carol A. Cookson of Salisbury, Ma., Joyce M. Barg and her husband, Ronald of Lawrence and Seabrook, NH, Nancy J. Cookson Santoro and her husband, Ignatius of Rochester, NH, Anne C. McCarthy, and her husband, Daniel of Rochester, NH, and Colleen J. Mitchell and her husband, Mark of Merrimac, Ma. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Cecile was predeceased by six siblings.

Family and Friends are invited to the celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection in St. Augustine’s Chapel on Tower Hill in Lawrence on Thursday, November 20, at 11 A.M. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are being made through the Pollard Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to: Rev. Robert P.
