Methuen, MA- Geraldine “Geri” T. (Gearon) Hart, 74, died May 11th at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, MA surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Elmhurst, Long Island, NY, daughter of Bernard and Mary (Sheridan) Gearon. She was a long time resident of South Boston before moving to Methuen, where she was employed as a secretary for Methuen High school for 24 years, until her retirement. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Methuen prior to it’s closing and was a communicant at Our lady of Good Counsel Parish. She was a secretary and volunteered her time at the Christian Formation Center in Andover, along with her husband Frank. Mrs. Hart was an avid reader and enjoyed painting and knitting as well as spending quality time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Francis “Frank” Hart, son Joseph F. Hart of Lawrence, daughter Geralyn H. and her husband Mark D. Friedrich of Methuen, a brother Dr. Joseph Gearon and his wife Barbara, four grandchildren, Ryan M. Hart, Joshua, Sarah and Elizabeth Friedrich, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard Gearon and she also leaves behind her beloved dog, Bear.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel/ St. Augustine’s Chapel of Lawrence, with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 3-5 & 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
