Benny J. Hughes, 57, of Fitzgerald, died Wednesday, Friday, June 11 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 10 A.M., Saturday, June 14 in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Hughes was born July 1, 1950 in Lima, Ohio to the late Charles Hughes, Sr., and the late Lillian Combs Hughes. He moved to Fitzgerald from Orlando, Florida in 1991, transferring to Deep South Products where he worked until his retirement several months ago. Mr. Hughes served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy & Linda Hughes of Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren, Jake and Keri Melton both of Fitzgerald; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles & Judy Hughes, II of Live Oak, Fl, Gary Hughes and Tim & Sue Ann Hughes all of Wapakoneta, OH as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Hughes, and a brother, Robert Jerome Hughes.
