Charles L. O’Connell, IV, 39, of Norton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday February 11, 2010 as the result of injuries sustained in motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Nichole (Sanborn) O’Connell.
Born in Norwood, MA on June 25, 1970 he was a loving son of Caryn E. (Irvin) O’Connell of Norton and Charles L. O’Connell, 3rd and his wife Lorelei of Norwood.
A resident of Norton for most of his life, Charlie grew in Norton and was educated in Norton schools. For the past 2 years he was the proud owner of the C5 construction Co.
An avid sports fan, Charlie played hockey as a youth and was a big fan of the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed golf and was a member of golfing leagues at the Stone-E-Lea golf course in Attleboro.
Charlie also played for area softball leagues, was an avid fisherman and loved shooting a good game of pool with his many friends. Another favorite pastime for Charlie was playing poker and participating in Texas Holdem leagues in the Attleboro area.
His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and especially with his two year old son Charles, V who was definitely “the light of his life”.
In addition to his wife, son and parents he is survived by his devoted sister Nichole J. Bramwell and her husband Todd of Norton. He was the cherished grandson of Charles L. and Marilyn O’Connell of Norwood and Ben C. and Bettie J. Irvin of Aiken, South Carolina. Charlie was the dear uncle of Brenna and Brady Bramwell of Norton and is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday February 17th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday February 16th from 5-8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Charlie’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Charles L. O’Connell, V Trust Fund care of Mansfield Bank P.O. Box 369 Norton, MA 02766.
