GALLANT, Joseph P., Detective BPD, 56 of West Roxbury, MA, formerly of Revere, MA, passed away on January 4, 2013. Loving and devoted husband of Katherine (Fougere) Gallant, and beloved father of Jennifer Gallant, Joseph S. Gallant, Christopher Gallant, and Maria Gallant, all of West Roxbury, MA. Loving son of Joseph V. and Constance Gallant of Revere, MA, and cherished brother of Paul and Jean Gallant of Halifax, MA, Mark and Dianne Gallant of Hyannis, MA, Mary Ann and Stephen O’Leary of Reading, MA, and Steven and Marissa Gallant of Reading, MA. Also survived by 40 wonderful nieces and nephews and countless extended family and devoted friends. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Monday 3-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Veteran Detective of the Boston Police Department, most recently working out of the Family Justice Center. Late member of the Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Holy Name Youth Service Project or to the New England Center for Children.
