Reta M. Russell (Brooks) age 81 of Stoughton passed away July 25th at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Somerville, she was raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School Class of 1950. She previously lived in Canton for 25 years before moving to Stoughton in 1975. She worked for H & R Block in Stoughton for 15 years. She was an active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Canton where she served as the Treasurer and was a member of the Altar Guild. She was an avid quilter and was a member of the Crosstown Quilters in Weymouth and the Quilter’s Group at the Stoughton Senior Center. She loved to share her talents and teach anyone who wanted to learn how to quilt or knit. Beloved wife for 63 years of Donald M. Mother of Gail M. Drew of Bellingham, Thomas Bennett Russell and his wife Lisa of Braintree, Gary R. Russell of Wrentham, Paul Brooks Russell and his wife Sue of Clinton, ME and Pamela J. Barros and her husband Anthony of Stoughton. Sister of Thelma Cabral of Randolph and the late Ruth Barrett,Rudolph Brooks, Jr. and Constance Beck. Mother in law of the late John P. Drew. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4-7 pm. Funeral Eucharist at the Trinity Episcopal Church 1 Blue Hill River Rd Canton Tuesday at 10 am. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
