Jean Paul B. Saumur Sr. 79, of Summer St. died peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Helene (Bruneau) Saumur. Born in Woonsocket he was a son of the late Leo Paul and Blanche (Landry) Saumur. He was a manufacturer at the Foxboro Co. for over thirty years, and also helped to run the family business, the Chowder Bowl Restaurant for many years. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. JP was a Eucharistic Minister and an active parishioner at All Saints Church, he volunteered for the Feed My Sheep Kitchen, and the Christmas Bazaar.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Jean Paul B. Saumur Jr. of Woonsocket, and Ronald Saumur and his wife Nancyof Pascoag, a daughter Dee Chasse and her husband John of Bellingham, a sister Clarice Csizmesia of Woonsocket, and two grandchildren, Paige and Maddy. He was also the brother of the late Francis and Roger Saumur.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Wednesday 5-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd., S. W. Lilburn, GA 30047 in his memory would be appreciated.
